Sled Dogs
Only sled dogs are permitted above the Arctic Circle in Greenland. They’re rugged work animals, bred for strength and endurance on ice. The Smithsonian Magazine has a nice article if you’d like to learn more. I gave the animals a wide berth on my travels in Greenland, but was also taken by their behavior and individual character. I’m working on a series of 5×5 sled dog paintings, here’s my first one!
