I made it safely to Ushuaia, the Southern tip of Argentina, arriving Jan 30th. Impressively, my baggage made it as well, checked all the way through from Seattle. I’ve spent the past couple days recovering from the 36 hours of travel it took to get down here and preparing my art supplies, workshops, and presentations for my upcoming cruises with Quark Expeditions.

I have some new art toys, the most exciting of which is a camera tripod that my sweetie and I adapted to be a drawing easel. I can now work standing up! I’ve used two camera flash mounts to create supports on which I can velcro one of my gator board portfolios. I have one additional gator board cut to fit onto the base as my tripod on which I can velco my palette and small water container. It’s all quite lightweight and compact and I send out a major thank you to my sweetie Darin for all of his help.

My other new toy is a travel watercolor kit I made out of an Altoids tin, using sculpey clay and some white spray paint. I’m pleased- it’s portable and was quite inexpensive!

Wish me luck on the water! Check back soon for updates.
