Eco-Conscious Packaging
With Earth Day around the corner, I’m excited to share with you changes I’ve recently made in my work to become more eco-conscious. I’m passionate about the environment and this year am transitioning to plastic-free packaging. With the tons of plastic garbage in the ocean and ubiquitous microparticles, I want to make a difference. I have replaced bubble mailers with cardboard boxes and paper-padded mailers that are both recyclable are made with recycled content. Instead of bubble wrap for padding, I am using GreenWrap, a fantastic combination of a specially cut kraft paper and soft tissue that is Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified, recyclable, and biodegradable. With shipping paintings, I may use bubble wrap, but it is all reused (special thanks to my favorite kayak shop NWOC!) and I encourage you to reuse materials to keep them out of landfills. Many packing materials can also be donated to shipping centers, I donate bubble wrap, air pillows, and other materials to my local UPS store. Moving towards a more sustainable future is a process and I would love to have you to join me on the journey!
