I’m leaving town early this Thursday morning to catch the Lady of the Lake boat on Lake Chelan. This 55 mile long lake was carved out thousands of years ago by glaciers and is extraordinarily deep (nearly 1500 feet in places). At the head of the lake is the charming town of Stehekin, nestled in the mountains within the North Cascades National Park, reachable only by foot, boat, or float plane. It’s well worth a visit! For the next month, I’ll be exhibiting art there at the Gallery West with two other local artists, Sue Lesmeister and Diane Paton Peel. The opening gala is this Friday at 7:30pm and features artist presentations and refreshments.
