I’m thrilled to be joining Washington State Ferries as artist-in-residence next week, September 22nd–28th! I’ll be on board the Port Townsend–Coupeville ferry to explore, paint, and record experiences on this unique route.

Washington State Ferries creates vital connections throughout the Salish Sea, serving communities and opening gateways to adventure. As a Port Townsend resident who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, I have a deep appreciation and affection for our ferry system. Every time aboard gives me a little thrill of adventure and a wonderful pause in my day to take in the natural world—and often sketch!

I plan to use art as a hook to foster connections between the Washington State Ferries and communities served by the route. Through a combination of visual art and multimedia storytelling, I aim to capture the spirit of ferry travel and the vessels that help make it possible. Stay tuned for updates!
