I was honored to participate last month in Girls Can Do, a day-long event with the mission of inspiring women of all ages to be “possibility thinkers”. Speakers included women from a wide range of disciplines sharing stories of successes and challenges they have faced in their careers.

With my interest in remote regions, I particularly enjoyed talks by Imaging the Arctic collaborator Kristin Laidre, NASA project manager Christy Hansen, and professional downhill skier Ingrid Backstrom. Girls can do anything and everything–don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and make up your own job title!
