The Vanishing Ice exhibition at the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham is spectacular! I highly recommend seeing the show which covers an amazing breadth of artists depicting polar and alpine landscapes from 1775-2012. I attended the member preview on Saturday night and the show is open through March 2, 2014. I am thrilled to be part of the exhibit with two of my Mt. Baker studio paintings hanging as well as a display of field sketches and tools.

I enjoyed seeing a number of my artist friends and acquaintances also represented! Anna McKee and Cynthia Camlin (who were part of the Ice Stories exhibit in 2011), and photographers Chris LinderCamille Seaman, and Tiina Itkonen. With more than 90 works of art, I can’t list out all the other amazing works and artists here, so I sincerely hope you can see the show before it ends! On that note, one piece needs to be seen before it melts. Artist Jwoti Duwadi partnered with Bellingham Cold Storage to create this 10 foot cube of ice.
