This month has been a rush of travel. I just returned from an extended weekend for my friend’s wedding in California and before that, (the 7th – 14th) I was in British Columbia assisting my friend Matt Beedle with a glacier-monitoring project in the Cariboo mountains. His work is affiliated with the Western Canadian Cryospheric Network (I designed their logo!) and the University of Northern British Columbia. With Denny Straussfogel, we made a team of three and focused on surveying, measuring, and painting the Castle Glacier. Amidst schlepping gear (such as the ice auger) and contributing to team moral, I had some lovely time for sketching. I’ve also become more disciplined with my field journal and will post some pages in the next day or two. Meanwhile, here are some of my field paintings!
