Out and about sketching
It’s a beautiful Autumn in Seattle. I love the changing colors, blustery days, and crisp weather. We’ve even had sun! I spent most of today outside, riding around on my bicycle and sketching. My first stop was Volunteer Park with my group of painters from Gage Academy. Afterwards I rode down and met my friend Bubba at the Museum of History and Industry on the boardwalk on Lake Washington. We basked and sketched. Here are a couple pages from the day (click images for larger versions). I find it’s so important for me to get outside of my studio and have the immediacy and spontaneity of field painting- it’s central to my work! And I love it.
