Vibram Five Fingers
“What do you have on your feet?!” is a question people often ask me as I’m wearing my most comfortable pair of shoes while out and about. I have a pair of Vibram Five Fingers shoes- the “Sprint” model- and this past week I’ve worn them hiking, kayaking, and running. They’re the only shoe that Vibram makes and are incredibly fun and comfortable (albeit strange looking).
Basically the shoes make me feel like I’m barefoot with kevlar on the soles’ of my feet. The idea behind them is that using our feet and actually feeling the ground strengthens our muscles and creates better movement. I agree with this and enjoy the fun of sensing all of the textures beneath my feet. The soles of the shoes also have a subtle “tire tread” pattern which creates excellent traction. They make me feel like I can walk up walls.

i have seen these, i even tried a pair on and considered buying them til i saw the price. 85 bucks is a bit too high for me, ill stick to my flip flops.

I used to pay $85 (or more) for running shoes, though! I now use my Five Fingers for running, hiking, and around town and have thrown away my running shoes. They began to hurt my feet after I’d adjusted to my Five Fingers.

Hi Maria, I’ve found your website while looking for information about vibram five fingers, but completely fallen in love with your paintings! I think they’re wonderful and will be keeping a close eye on you from now on.
My local running shop is getting some vibram fivefingers in soon. I can’t wait to try them.

run with vibram running shoes and they are great. From my experience, time is really important to let the feet adjust. Sure taught me the value of being patient.
