This icefall on Mt. Baker is enroute to the volcano’s summit. I sketched the icefall several times while assisting with leading a wonderful program, Girls on Ice. (Read more about Girls on Ice 2008.) I have always loved abstractions in landscape and the patterns and shapes of this particular icefall intrigued me. The form of the icefall is ephemeral, changing from moment to moment as the glacier yields to gravity and the forces of rain, wind, and weather. Learn more about how I created this painting here.
