Outreach and Education

As an Expeditionary Artist, I bring together art, science, and the outdoors and seek to raise environmental awareness. Field art cultivates observation and ultimately a greater appreciation for our surroundings.

Select paintings are available for exhibits which may include an additional display of my supplies and educational handouts. I also offer presentations and workshops for all ages. My sessions may be tailored from one hour to multiple days. Past events include the following:

Expeditionary Art Presentations 30 – 50 minute slide presentations with props which, in addition to my own work, may include a history of traveling artists and climate change science. Scientists may be available to partner with an event for a greater scientific perspective.

Field Sketching and Nature Journaling Sessions often include an indoor orientation and outdoor component. May include learning to make supplies such as sketchbooks and pocket watercolor kits.

Watercolor Workshops– Painting technique of all levels.
